About Dallas Nightlife
Dallas is big on nightlife, especially in the Deep Ellum and Greenville Avenue districts. The busy streets of Deep Ellum, renowned as the city's musical nerve center, are lined with live music venues. The popular Gypsy Tea Room books country and bluegrass, while Club Dada hosts an eclectic mix each week and Club Clearview pipes out everything from classic rock to R&B. Gilleys on Lamar Street, owned by the award-winning performer, juggles boxing matches, fashion shows and great country acts. Moving away from downtown, Greenville Avenue is to bars what Deep Ellum is to live music. Indeed, Greenville offers a taste of everything, with trendy Zúbar and the laid-back Ships Lounge being two favorites. The Uptown scene, meanwhile, is marked by a more exclusive brand of cool, as evidenced by the super-hip Medici and homey Ginger Man, a haven for beer and wine connoisseurs. All the while, smooth jazz resonates from Sambuca Uptown. Other nightlife options include the kitschy Bar of Soap in Fair Park and Lizard Lounge on Swiss Avenue.
